Yesterday, Moldovan citizens abroad went out to vote, registering a new record of diaspora participation in the elections – 329,176 chose the president in the second round, TRIBUNA informs.
Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi thanked those from the diaspora “for the remarkable effort in the second round of the presidential elections”.
“In every state that voted on Sunday, voter turnout substantially exceeded previous turnout, and this mobilization effort made a huge difference. 329 thousand of our compatriots came to the polling stations: over 30 thousand in countries like Romania, Germany or France, over 40 thousand – in Great Britain, over 90 thousand – in Italy.
With confidence and determination we showed the whole world that Moldova is not for sale. Together, we will succeed!” he mentioned.
