“Moldova, you are a winner! Today, dear Moldovans, you offered a lesson in democracy, worthy of being written in history textbooks. Today you saved Moldova! In our choice for a dignified future, no one lost. Freedom, truth and justice have won! Moldova managed to show its will and power through the vote of each of us. We proved that united we can defeat those who wanted to bring us to our knees” – declared Maia Sandu, the candidate of the Action and Solidarity Party, after the results showed that she obtained the second mandate as President, informs TRIBUNA.
The politician thanked all those who went out to vote, regardless of the option.
“You showed that we are Moldova, with good and bad, with ethnic groups that take care of each other and respect each other, with many needs, with turbulent histories, but above all that you showed that Moldova is a family – the thing we needed with all of us to become better at what we do, from the act of governance to the last seed we plant in our soil,” she emphasized.
Maia Sandu said that she understands that it was a vote conditioned by changes – changes expected by society. “I want you to know that I heard all the voices, including those of criticism. And thank you that we went over the upsets, the grievances, to protect our country,” she added.
The politician also said that, “Moldova was under an unprecedented attack for the history of the whole of Europe – dirty money, illegal vote buying, the involvement in the electoral processes of hostile forces from outside the country and criminal groups, lies, incitement of hatred and of fear in our society. Our people united and freedom and citizens won. Peace and hope for a better life won!”.
“I heard your voice – both those who support me and those who voted otherwise. Regardless of the voting option, we all want to live in peace, good understanding, and have a better life. I assure you that this is my main goal for the coming years.
I appreciate the call to unity from counter-candidate Alexandr Stoianoglo. We will continue to develop Moldova in peace and democracy. Together with all Moldovans and for all Moldovans. Moldova, be proud of yourself!” concluded the President.
