50.38% or 750 075 citizens said “YES” in the republican constitutional referendum, answering the question “Do you support the amendment of the Constitution with a view to the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union?” – shows the preliminary data after processing 100% of the votes, informs TRIBUNA.
On the other hand, “NO” was answered by 49.62% or 738 799 voters.
In order for the constitutional republican referendum to be declared valid, at least 1/3 of the number of people registered in the electoral lists must participate in it. The law will be considered adopted if the majority of citizens who participated in the referendum vote for it. The Commission will present a report on the results of the referendum to the Constitutional Court, which, in turn, within 10 days, will confirm or deny, through a decision, the results of the plebiscite.
