The “Together” bloc demands the resignation or dismissal of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mihai Popșoi, following the “hostile” statements made by his Hungarian counterpart, in Chisinau, regarding Ukraine, informs TRIBUNA.
Octavian Țîcu, representative of the “Together” Bloc, condemned the lack of reaction of Minister Popșoi, but also of the Government in general.
“Beyond the fact that we owe Ukraine the opening of negotiations, it is known that thanks to Ukraine’s resistance in the territories invaded by the Russian Federation, the Republic of Moldova preserved its independence and became a candidate state for the European Union”, he declared, noting that the Bloc stands in solidarity with Ukraine.
The politician also said that he is waiting for the reaction of Prime Minister Dorin Recean and President Maia Sandu.
We specify that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Peter Szijjarto, was in Chisinau on Friday, at the invitation of Minister Popșoi. At a joint press conference, the Hungarian official said: “We have a significant community in Ukraine. The rights of this Hungarian community in Ukraine are brutally violated. In recent years, various decisions have been taken in Ukraine that have restricted the rights of this Hungarian community and greatly restricted access to culture and education in the mother tongue, and one of the most important values of the EU is the defense of national minorities”.
