President Maia Sandu participated in the Forum of teachers from universities and pedagogical colleges. During the event, the head of state emphasized that the Republic of Moldova needs well-trained teachers in all educational institutions in the country, informs TRIBUNA.
“We want to have strong universities in Moldova. Universities are not only centers of learning, but also incubators of social change”, declared the President.
She said that, in the last three years, our universities and colleges, including those with a pedagogical profile, benefit from funding in the amount of 700 million lei, within the “Higher Education in Moldova” project, financially supported by the World Bank. This is the largest investment in the last 30 years. And this year, 34 million lei were allocated to double scholarships for students from pedagogical specialties.
“We will continue at the same pace. The young people of Moldova deserve to obtain competitive higher education here, at home, and the teachers – to benefit from the same possibilities and opportunities as any teacher from European universities”, noted the Head of State.
