Irina Vlah, the president of “Platforma Moldova”, candidate for the position of president of the country in the presidential elections, sent a request to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), in which she requests clarifications of several provisions of the Electoral Code, informs TRIBUNA.
According to his words, “despite numerous changes, the Electoral Code still contains many ambiguities and loopholes. Because of this, participation in the presidential campaign can turn into a race through a minefield for the candidates, when everything will depend on the interpretations of the Central Electoral Commission”.
“Since compliance with the law is my highest priority, our legal team has reviewed the electoral legislation to identify ambiguous provisions that, when interpreted in two ways, pose risks for candidates to be sanctioned by electoral authorities.
I sent a request to the CEC to clarify the ambiguous provisions of the Code. I thought it important to publish this letter as it relates to a matter of public interest. The list of questions to be clarified by the CEC – here“, explained the politician.
