The United States welcomes the decision of the government of Moldova to formally open negotiations with the U.S. government regarding the acquisition of the plot of land on Tighina street for the purpose of constructing a new U.S. Embassy and accompanying public park:

Honoring the historical significance of the site, we look forward to restoring and preserving the historic gates of the former Republican Stadium. The new facility will provide a strong platform for both our bilateral relationship and development cooperation activities over the coming decades.”
