In relation to the statements of the Chinese Ambassador to the French Republic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration specifies:

We are surprised to hear these statements by the Chinese ambassador to France who questioned the sovereignty of countries that declared independence in 1991.

In the last three decades since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the Republic of Moldova and the People’s Republic of China have built the bilateral relations based on mutual respect and support for sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The remarks of the Chinese ambassador in France are absolutely unacceptable. We are waiting for the clarification of the official stance from the Chinese authorities.
