Approximately 100 searches have been conducted this morning in the criminal case concerning the illegal financing of Șor Party.

Contacted by IPN for details, Mariana Cherpec, press officer of the Prosecutor General’s Office, said that searches have been carried out at a number of addresses, including at the party’s offices and at domiciles of party members. Details will be provided later.

In this case, MP Marina Tauber last week was stripped of parliamentary immunity and was then arrested. She is now in remand detention at Penitentiary No. 13 and will be held there initially for 30 days. Tauber was charged with acceptance of illegal financing for Șor Party from an organized criminal group and with the falsification of the report on the financial management of the party for the first half of this year with the intention of hiding the accumulated financial resources and the incurred costs.
