U.S. Ambassador Logsdon returned to the Transnistria region today, first seeing how EuroRostAgro used a grant from USAID to upgrade its post-harvest technology and export more produce to the EU.
The Ambassador then visited a refugee accommodation center in Tiraspol to demonstrate his appreciation for local efforts to welcome and assist refugees from Ukraine.
During a visit to the Tiraspol Jewish Center and Synagogue, Ambassador Logsdon met with Rabbi Zaltsman and other community leaders to discuss issues important to the local Jewish Community and emphasize the strong support of the United States for religious freedom.
The Ambassador then met with Vadim Krasnoselskiy to discuss tensions in the region caused by Russia’s unprovoked war against Ukraine, as well as the need for continued dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol via the OSCE-led conflict settlement process.
Finally, Ambassador Logsdon had the opportunity to visit Tighina (Bender) Fortress, where he enjoyed the historic site and beautiful views.
