The President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu met with a group of deputies of the Lithuanian Seimas, who are members of the Foreign Affairs Committee, and are on a working visit to Chisinau today.

They discussed the security and humanitarian situation in the region, and the Republic of Moldova’s efforts to advance on the European integration path, especially as it was granted the EU candidate country status.

The Head of State thanked Lithuania for the support that the Republic of Moldova received over the years and for standing by us during the process of obtaining the EU candidate country status.

Members of the Vilnius Seimas reaffirmed their support for the European path of our country and expressed their readiness to share Lithuania’s experience of EU accession with their colleagues from the Republic of Moldova.
