The President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his team in Kyiv – TRIBUNA reports.

During the discussion, the Head of State expressed her admiration for Ukrainians’ courage in defending their homeland from Russian aggression and assured them that the Republic of Moldova stands by Ukraine.

“We will continue to support refugees from Ukraine who found shelter in Moldova. We will strengthen transport and transit capacity on the Republic of Moldova’s territory in order to organise corridors for the transport of goods to and from Ukraine. It is our moral duty as neighbours and friends to help them”, President Maia Sandu said.

Also, during the meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the two leaders agreed that our countries will cooperate in the economic and energy fields, and on the path to membership in the European Union. “The citizens of our countries deserve to have a peaceful and prosperous life in the European family, and we owe to our people to offer them this kind of future,” President Maia Sandu said.
