Today, the United States and Republic of Moldova signed a Memorandum of Agreement to proceed with the sale of the Republican Stadium property.

The new U.S. Embassy compound will feature a public park, restoration of the iconic stadium gates, and a world-class diplomatic campus that will demonstrate the strength and endurance of the U.S. Moldova partnership.

„I thank the government and the people of Moldova for following through on a commitment that was first made in 2015 to allow us to purchase a site for the construction of our new Embassy. I look forward to the United States being a strong partner – and to the new Embassy being a good neighbor for residents of Chisinau – for years to come,” said U.S. Ambassador Kent Logsdon.
