Ambassador Logsdon met with Vadim Krasnoselsky and Vitaliy Ignatyev in Tiraspol on March 30.
The Ambassador reaffirmed the U.S. commitment to the OSCE-led 5+2 settlement process as the only forum to achieve a peaceful settlement of the Transnistrian conflict that respects Moldova’s sovereignty and territorial integrity with a special status for Transnistria within Moldova’s internationally recognized borders.
He highlighted U.S. programming in Transnistria, including USAID assistance to Transnistrian farmers, as well as our support for the American Center and English teaching assistants at the Tiraspol Shevchenko University.
The Ambassador also raised the importance the United States placed on respect for human rights. Before departing, the Ambassador met with alumni of U.S. exchange programs residing in Transnistria.
