The United States Embassy in Chisinau continues to operate. Ambassador Dereck J. Hogan and the Embassy’s American and Moldovan staff members remain in Chisinau, working to maintain the strong bilateral relationship the United States and Moldova have enjoyed for years – TRIBUNA reports.

„Our main focus at present is keeping our staff and families safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic, while helping the Government of Moldova to do the same for its citizens. Many of our staff are teleworking or taking other steps to practice social distancing in accordance with expert guidance. We have temporarily postponed visa interviews to focus on assisting Americans citizens in need and cancelled public events to lessen the risk of exposure to everyone – but our Embassy remains open and our work continues.

We strongly encourage everyone in Moldova to take the necessary actions to protect themselves and their families and to remain healthy” – it’s said in an official statement.
