The candidate of the “New Force” Movement, Victor Chironda, declared, after leaving the polling station, that he had voted for a city with opportunities, amenities and safety and to provide people with the simple things they daily need.

“People need good roads and sidewalks, quality public transportation, landscaped areas, green areas, children’s playgrounds,” said Victor Chironda.

The candidate urged the citizens to come to the polls and to vote for what they deem important, so that these elections would bring a good result for Chisinau.

“Let’s hope for a municipal council that does not make politics and produce shows, but works for the citizens. I think today is the first step to building an efficient public administration”, said the candidate of the “New Force Movement”.

For general mayor of Chisinau municipality, 18 candidates are competing. As general mayor of Chisinau municipality shall be elected the candidate who has accumulated 50% + one vote. If none of the candidates manages to cross this threshold, the second round of elections is organized with the first two candidates, where the winner is the one who has accumulated the greatest number of votes.
