“In general, business people are not considered to be interested in politics or even in elections. It is a wrong perception because it is a confrontation between totally different things – the interest in politics and the involvement in politics. The vast majority of business people really prefer to stay as far as possible from politics, avoid formulating opinions that could be politically treated, but follow closely the political and electoral processes, because these processes have tangency direct to their activity, “said the famous businessman, Oleg Braga, in a post on his blog.
He notes that, for example, the past parliamentary elections have been interested in the stability/instability they could provide. “I am pleased to note that, in general, the political and electoral process did not affect the business environment. Yes, it is true that the investment interest in this period was more moderate, but it is natural to be so. Everywhere in the world, you will attest a moderation of the investment spirit during one or another electoral campaign, “says the businessman.
He also mentions that he was also interested in the elections because of the electoral offers with which the main political actors in the business sector came. “We found that, unlike other elections, we had less geopolitics and more economic offers, which is evidence that issues that are really relevant to the development of the country are becoming increasingly important,” says Oleg Braga.
According to him, another issue that he was interested in was whether, after the elections, the continuity of the processes started by the government until the elections will be ensured. “We have seen that the team that has done good things for the development of the business environment in recent years has been highly appreciated by voters and that it is starting with the first chance of securing the administration of the country. This again was a good sign for me (and I know it for other business people), or those good beginnings that I felt most must have continuity and finality. “
The businessman also says what interests him now in the post-electoral period. “Obviously, to be stability. Because only under conditions of stability will the business develop, but also the country in general. And, of course, as suggested above, it is important to have continuity, “says Oleg Braga.
“Here is how I see politics and elections in Moldova. And as far as I know, the majority of business people have similar positions and visions. So it’s not true that business people do not care about politics or choices. We are interested, but from another point of view, “he concludes.
