Candidates for the post of MP may register as of today for the parliamentary elections of 24 February 2019.

According to the Central Electoral Commission, documents for the registration of candidates for MP in the national constituency may be submitted to the Commission’s headquarters.

For the registration of candidates for the position of MP in the uninominal constituencies the documents shall be submitted to the electoral councils of the uninominal constituencies.

At the same time, as of tomorrow, the registration documents can be filed as participants in the republican referendum of 24 February 2019. It is about: political parties, social-political organizations and electoral blocs. The documents will be submitted to CEC starting today and until 24 January 2019.

Parliamentary elections of next year will be held by a mixed electoral system, the MPs being elected both on party lists and in constituencies. Also, on election day, a consultative referendum will be held to reduce the number of lawmakers from 101 to 61 and remove them from office, if they fail to fulfill their duties properly.
