Moldovan foreign affairs minister meets Latvian counterpart

Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur today had a meeting with Foreign Affairs Minister of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs, on a working visit to Chisinau, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s media interaction service has reported.   

The ministers tackled the entire spectrum of subjects on the Moldovan-Latvian agenda, the process of implementing reforms and modernizing Moldova, which comes from the Association Agreement.

At the same time, the two officials reconfirmed the mutual support to achieve both countries’ goal regionally and internationally.

Also today, the ministers signed an agreement between the Moldovan and Latvian governments on cooperation in the sectors of education, culture, science, youth and sport, under which the Latvian state provides Moldovan students and teachers with education and research scholarships in Latvia.

It is worth mentioning that the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Moldova and Latvia is marked in 2017 and the visit to Chisinau by the Latvian diplomat fits into the string of actions dedicated to this event.
