The Central Election Commission (CEC) agreed the size of subsidies that will be allocated monthly from the 2017 state budget to political parties according to the results achieved in elections, IPN reports.

The monthly subsidy for each valid vote given to parties in the November 30, 2014 parliamentary elections is about 1.11 lei. The monthly subsidy for each valid vote given in the local general elections of June 14, 2015 is about 0.47 lei.

The subsidies allocated from the state budget will be transferred monthly to special bank accounts opened by parties. The information will be presented to the CEC.

The state subsidies for parties in 2017, as a result of the two types of elections, come to 40 million lei. The largest monthly subsidies will be collected by the Liberal Democratic Party – over 713,000 lei, the Party of Socialists – over 626,000 lei and the Democratic Party – over 625,000 lei.
