Parallel vote tabulation: Igor Dodon – 47.44%, Maia Sandu – 37.71%

The election observation mission of Promo-LEX presented the results of the parallel tabulation of votes cast in the October 30 presidential elections. According to Promo-LEX, the Party of Socialists’ candidate for President Igor Dodon polled 47.44% of the ballot, as opposed to 48.26% shown by the preliminary results of the Central Election Commission. The joint candidate of the center-right opposition Maia Sandu gained, according to the observers, by 0.71% less than the score presented by the CEC, which is 37.71% of the poll, IPN reports.

The difference in the case of the other candidates is also insignificant. The biggest difference was recorded in the case of independent candidate Maia Laguta – CEC results show an electoral score of 0.75% of the vote, while the parallel vote count shows a score of 1.47%.

The data of Promo-LEX cover the proceedings of 2,067 polling places, with two polling places fewer than in the case of the CEC data.
