Preliminary results with over 99% of votes counted

After 99.14% of the votes cast in the presidential elections on October 30 were counted by 5am, the preliminary results showed an electoral score of 48.39% for Igor Dodon and of 38.27% for Maia Sandu, IPN reports.

Moe than 670,000 voters chose Igor Dodon, while over 536,000 people gave their vote to Maia Sandu. The other seven candidates polled between 6.03% and 0.1% of the vote.

The voter turnout was 48%.
