Viorel Cibotaru: I voted for a personality

“I voted for a personality who I want to see President of the Republic of Moldova,” leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Viorel Cibotaru said at the polling place where he voted this morning. The Lib-Dem noted this personality, besides ordinary qualities typical of a President, should also have an important mission – to help the country break the deadlock and to mobilize the political class to do reforms, IPN reports.

Viorel Cibotaru voiced hope that the elections will not be rigged given that the voting process is monitored by international observers as well and that this exercise will set off a reform process because the President can show will now that this is elected by the people.

The Liberal Democratic Party didn’t field a candidate for the presidential elections and announced it supports the joint candidate of the center-right opposition.
