Moldovan independent candidate votes "for all citizens live better"

Independent candidate for president position Maia Laguta today voted for election of president. The electoral contender said she voted “for all citizens of the country live better”.

“I voted that Moldovan residents should be proud of their country and for raising living standards in a short period. I want all citizens to live better. Now Moldovans have the opportunity that the president of the country should work in their interest”, Laguta said.

Direct presidential elections take place in Moldova today. About 2.8 million voters are expected at the ballot boxes.

Nine candidates remained in the electoral race: Mihai Ghimpu – Liberal Party, Iurie Leanca – European People’s Party of Moldova, Dumitru Ciubasenco – Our Party, Maia Sandu – Action and Solidarity Party, the Dignity and Truth Platform Party, the Liberal Democratic Party, Igor Dodon – Party of Socialists, Silvia Radu – independent candidate, Maia Laguta – independent candidate, Ana Gutu – Right Party and Valeriu Ghiletchi – an independent candidate.

First preliminary data on results of the elections will be presented around 22:00.
