President Maia Sandu will receive the Minister-President of Bavaria, Markus Söder, at the State Residence on Friday, July 31, 2026, during his first visit to the Republic of Moldova.

According to the Presidential Administration, Bavaria is Germany’s largest federal state by area and one of Europe’s strongest industrial economies, renowned for its automotive industry, advanced technologies, and innovation capacity.

The visit comes as the Republic of Moldova continues to strengthen its ties with European Union member states on its path toward EU accession and intensifies efforts to attract foreign investment.

Cooperation with Bavaria opens up significant opportunities in this regard, including the integration of Moldovan companies into Bavarian value chains.

Following their meeting, President Maia Sandu and Minister-President Markus Söder will hold a joint press conference.
