Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu says that, in a tense international economic context and amid growing pressure on energy and fuel prices, the state must be the first to set an example of financial discipline and responsibility in managing public funds. In this context, he has requested all public authorities and budget-funded institutions to introduce strict spending controls and to revise their procurement plans for 2026, TRIBUNA reports.
“Procurements that are not of critical necessity will be reduced by at least 10%, and expenditures for official transport — including the number of service vehicles — will be cut by at least 20%.
Public resources must be directed where they are truly needed: into infrastructure, the functioning of essential state services, and maintaining economic stability,” the head of Government stated.
