Citizens of the Republic of Moldova residing in France will be able, starting March 1, to exchange their Moldovan driving licence for a French one without taking theoretical or practical exams, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The facilitation applies to holders of category B licences — for vehicles with fewer than 10 seats and a total weight of up to 3.5 tonnes, issued in Moldova after January 1, 2020.
This becomes possible after France completed the internal procedures required for the entry into force of the bilateral agreement on the mutual exchange of driving licences, signed by the governments of Moldova and France.
The agreement significantly simplifies life for Moldovans living in France, eliminating the costs and time associated with retaking driving exams.
