On the occasion of completing the evaluation process of aligning national legislation with European standards, known as screening, the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, welcomed yesterday at the Presidency the public servants who contributed to the successful conduct of this decisive step on our country’s path to European integration.

During the meeting, the Head of State expressed gratitude for the intense work and dedication of teams from all involved institutions, who over the past 15 months demonstrated professionalism, responsibility, and perseverance.

“Congratulations to all colleagues who contributed to completing the screening process—in record time, twice as fast as other candidate countries. Let’s continue with the same determination,” declared President Maia Sandu.

The screening process took place between July 2024 and September 2025. Its successful completion is the result of an unprecedented interinstitutional effort, joined by civil society, the private sector, and academia, and paves the way for starting chapter-by-chapter accession negotiations.
