The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) informs that civil society organizations, electoral training and research institutions in the Republic of Moldova, foreign electoral authorities, international organizations, foreign governments, non-governmental organizations from abroad, as well as international electoral experts may apply for observer accreditation no later than 21 September 2025, TRIBUNA reports.
Civil society organizations and NGOs from Moldova or abroad may request accreditation only if their statutes or internal documents explicitly provide for election observation missions and/or activities related to the protection of human rights, democratic values, the promotion of participatory democracy, and/or representation of specific citizen groups. These entities must have a permanent governing body, authorized representatives, and communication mechanisms with them.
Applications for international observer accreditation may be submitted only if the entity has received an invitation from the Central Electoral Commission to monitor the elections. The invitation of international organizations, representatives of foreign governments, and foreign NGOs as international experts or observers may be issued by the CEC, as well as through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, upon the Commission’s request.
