The actions to be taken on solid waste management were discussed today at a meeting convened by Prime Minister Pavel Filip. This is mentioned in a Government press release, TRIBUNA informs.
“We are after the electoral campaign. We had no encounter with people so that this issue would not be addressed. In every village we have unauthorized landfills, people complain that waste is thrown away. But we do not even have to go to the villages, it is enough to go on the country roads to see garbage on the streets, “Filip said.
In the same press release, it is mentioned that the Prime Minister stressed that not the lack of money is the biggest constraint in solving this problem but the fact that we do not have a National Solid Waste Management Program.
“I have the absolute confidence that if there was a National Solid Waste Management Program from the very beginning, from the independence of this state, today, as in many other countries, we did not talk about this issue anymore,” Filip said.
Thus, the Prime Minister has urged, as a matter of urgency, to propose amendments to the law on waste. At the same time, a Roadmap for Solid Waste Management will be drafted, containing all the steps for the final resolution of this problem.
