At the initiative of the Party of Socialists faction in the municipal council, a commission was established to allocate one-time financial assistance to people with visual disability on the occasion of the International Day of the Blind. Assistance in the amount of 1 thousand lei will be received by 900 people.

The PSRM municipal councilor, Eugenia Cheban, said at a briefing on Monday that the Society of the Blind People had compiled lists and all beneficiaries would be able to get help from tomorrow at all post offices.

She also recalled that in 2017 the municipal council voted for allocating 3 million lei for the equipment of traffic lights with sound signals, as well as the installation of tactile tracks.

“Unfortunately, almost a year has passed, but the work has not been completed,” Eugenia Cheban said.

The municipal councilor also urged mothers, retirees, large families and low-income families to apply for financial aid, as the municipal council provided money for this.
