The speaker of the Moldovan parliament, Zinaida Greceanii, held a working meeting with the head of the IMF Mission Ruben Atoyan and the head of the IMF Permanent Mission in the Republic of Moldova, Vladimir Tulin.
The parties discussed the issue of extending the program with the IMF. The Parliament speaker stressed the need to develop social programs, and when drawing up the budget, it is necessary to take into account the domestic funding sources.
“We need reforms that will benefit the people and the country. The Moldovan Parliament will support the initiatives of the government that will lead to the resumption of the program with the International Monetary Fund,” said Greceanii.
The meeting was attended by Vice Speakers of the Parliament Ion Cheban, Alexander Slusari and Monica Babuc, Chairman of the Commission on Economy, Budget and Finance Igor Munteanu, Chairman of the Commission on Control of Public Finances Vladimir Golovatyuk and Vice-President of the PAS ACUM faction Igor Grosu.
