President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon held a meeting in Moscow with the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill. During the dialogue, the patriarch once again congratulated Igor Dodon on his election as President and blessed him for good beginnings in this high office.
The President of the country asked His Holiness to support the initiative to create a Public Platform for Reconciliation and the consent of the inhabitants of both banks of the Dniester. Patriarch Kirill supported the initiative.
The Patriarch also blessed the construction of a new temple in Chisinau in honor of St. Sergius of Radonezh.
“The Orthodox faith is the living soul of our people. The Orthodox Church is the cornerstone of the Moldovan statehood and a living thread that for centuries united our peoples. We will continue cherishing the faith of our ancestors in the future,” Igor Dodon said at the end of the meeting.
Recall that the President of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Dodon, is at the working visit to Moscow, heading the large Moldovan delegation, which includes parliament deputies, presidential advisors, and leading economic agents of our country. Today, Igor Dodon will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and take part in a business forum.
