Gagauzia is celebrating today the 17th anniversary since the Law on the special legal status of the territorial-administrative unit Gagauz-Yeri was passed. On this occasion Comrat is having a feast, while its Governor conveyed a special message for the people living in the autonomy.  

According toTRIBUNA the message reads that December 23, 1994 is „one of the most important days in the history of our people” and that this Law „legalized the statehood of Gagauzia within Moldova”.

„This day must remind all of us that we are the same people with the same historic fate and shared future. This is why this day must make our people more united, contribute to building good relations among people”, reads the message.

The leader of the Communists Vladimir Voronin also had a message of congratulations for the Gagauzians on this occasion. He expressed his admiration for the Gagauz people and wished stability and prosperity.
